Term of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift work

  • Day - 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Afternoon - 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Job Description

The chosen candidate will be responsible for operating semi-automated production equipment in a fast paced PWB (Printed Wired Boards) manufacturing environment; some manual labour work during production processing will be required. The work requires careful and constant observation of strict safety measures as handling of potentially dangerous chemicals will be involved in most production areas. The work environment is maintained at high levels of cleanliness at all times as this is critical for the manufacturing process. Training is provided for specific skills required.

Attributes:

- Secondary School (grade 12) Diploma and relevant work experience 
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work with minimum or no supervision in a team or individual setting in a clean and safe work environment
- Reliable, dependable and a willing/able to learn (in a continuous improvement environment)
- Willingness to work on any shift (and overtime when required) 
- Detail & goal oriented individuals who are self-motivated 
- Familiarity with WHIMS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)

SHIPPER/RECEIVER

Job Description
The Shipper reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for packaging and shipping manufactured products/orders to the customer. The work requires careful and constant observation of strict safety measures as handling of potentially dangerous chemicals will be involved in most production areas. The work environment is maintained at high levels of cleanliness at all times as this is critical for the manufacturing process. Training is provided for specific skills required. Responsibilities and authority include:
• Ensuring that product is packaged and shipped in accordance with established processes and procedures,
• Ensuring that shipping processes are monitored and controlled,
• Ensure that nonconforming product is identified and segregated,
• Ensuring that any equipment in their process area is maintained as per maintenance requirements,
• Supporting all key quality functions as they relate to the packaging and shipping of product,
• Supporting internal and external corrective action processes and procedures, particularly those that relate to packaging and shipping,
• Preventing the further processing or shipment of nonconforming products,
• Promoting continuous improvement of product, process, and equipment quality,
• Performing other tasks as requested by the Production Manager, Operations Manager and President.

 

Attributes and Qualifications

PROCESS ENGINEER ASSISTANT

 

Term of Employment: Full time, day shift, 8am-4:30pm, M-F
Salary: To Be Determined
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Burnaby, BC
Positions Available: 1

 

Skill Requirements:

 

  • Education: post-secondary education and/or training in sciences, engineering and/or technology. A chemistry engineering degree would be a definite asset and preferred. Some basic electronics and mechanical training is an asset but not required.
  • Process engineering experience in a manufacturing facility; previous experience in a Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) manufacturing or an EMS environment is an asset; previous experience in an AS9100 environment is a definite asset
  • Experience in conducting designed experiments.
  • Experience in developing and documenting  manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • A background in chemistry and/or electronics would be an asset.

 


Language: English; ability to write and effectively communicate in English is essential.

 

Job Description:

 

The successful candidate will work closely with all facets of the manufacturing plant personnel including Engineering, Quality Assurance & Production to maintain and troubleshoot production processes. Other responsibilities include implementation of new and/or upgraded production processes or equipment & assisting the production department as required.
